Reset Process Cync Smart Light Bulbs

The following process is the most common reset process that works for all Cync Smart Light Bulbs; including all Reveal and Deco bulbs, that are on the latest firmware. In the event that the reset process does not work for your light bulb, follow the reset process in the Alternate Reset Process section. This may be because you have an older generation of bulbs, or the light bulb may be on firmware that is not compatible with this process.

  1. Start by turning the bulb OFF at the switch.
  2. Turn the bulb ON for 1 second, then OFF for 1 second. Do this 5 times.
  3. Once the bulb flashes, the bulb has been reset.


Alternate Reset Processes


There are two alternative reset processes. This is dependent on the generation of bulbs or firmware version of the bulb.


Alternate Process 1

  1. Start by turning the bulb OFF for 5 seconds.
  2. Proceed by turning the bulb back ON for 8 seconds, then OFF for 2 seconds. Repeat this 5 times.
  3. Turn the bulb back ON one last time. The bulb will flash 3 times. This indicates that the bulb has been reset.

Alternate Process 2

  1. Start by turning the bulb OFF for 5 seconds.
  2. Proceed by turning the bulb back ON for 8 seconds.
  3. Then turn the bulb OFF and ON at 2 second intervals. Do this 3 times.
  4. Then turn the bulb OFF for 2 seconds, then ON for 8 seconds. Do this 2 times.
  5. Then turn the bulb OFF for 2 seconds, back ON one last time. The bulb will flash 3 times. This indicates that the bulb has been reset.


Helpful Hint

Make sure the lamp or fixture you are using is a simple on/off switch. Three-way dimming lamps, rotary dimmers, or multi-function switches will not work. If you do not have a fixture that uses a one click on and one click off switch, try using a power strip with an on/off switch or use a lamp that can be plugged in/unplugged using the reset timing sequence.






Troubleshooting Tips


Cannot perform reset on Cync Smart Light Bulb

Your Smart Light Bulb may be on an older firmware version. If after attempting an Alternative Reset Process with no success, a firmware update may be needed. To update your Smart Light Bulb's firmware, navigate to Settings from the Home screen in the Cync app, then select Firmware Updates. The app will then automatically check for updates for all your devices. Once updates are complete, re-try the Reset Process.
