Do these Ceiling Fan Smart Switches work with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands?
Cync or C by GE Wired Smart Switches only work with 2.4 GHz but are compatible with most networks that combine 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands into a single network.
Can I control these switches when I’m away from home?
Yes, our Smart Wired Switches are Wi-Fi enabled. So, you can control them out-of-home without the need of a hub or additional device. Just use the Cync app.
Can I use these switches outside?
No, our Wired Smart Switches are for use indoors and must be protected against the elements.
Will these wired switches fit inside a wall box with a mud ring?
Yes, our Cync Ceiling Fan Smart Switches will fit inside a switch wall box that has a mud ring. In some cases, the mud ring may cause the wall box to become shallow, which could cause difficulty fitting the Cync switch inside the box.
What kind of wall plate do I need for these switches?
They come with a single gang switch plate in the box. If you are installing into a multi-gang application, you can purchase standard multi-gang switch plates that will also work with our smart switches. Cync Smart Switches fit standard Decora wall plates which are the standard size for paddle-type switches.
Are there other switch color options besides white?
Currently we offer white but are exploring opportunities to expand color options. Stay tuned to our website and social media channels for updates.
How many Ceiling Fan Smart Switches can I connect to the Cync app?
You can have up to 50 devices in one Cync App Home.
Can I control these switches with Alexa, Google and HomeKit?
Our Ceiling Fan Smart Switches are compatible with Alexa and Google. They are not compatible with HomeKit. Because our switches are Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled, you can control it with Alexa and Google without the need of a hub or additional device. For voice control, you will need to link your Cync account with Alexa and/or Google.
Can I connect these switches directly with Google like I did with my C by GE Smart Lights (Google Seamless Setup)?
Our switches are not Seamless Setup compatible and cannot be set up directly through the Google Home app. However, they do Work with Google, which requires the Cync app for set up, then linking your Cync account with the Google Home app.
Are these switches compatible with Wink?
No, our Cync Ceiling Fan Smart Switches are not compatible with Wink.
Do these switches work with Smartthings?
No, our Cync Ceiling Fan Smart Switches are not compatible with Smartthings.
How do I factory reset my Ceiling Fan Smart Switch?
Press and hold the power button on the switch until the LED light turns red, then let go. The light indicator will blink blue once it is successfully reset.
Can I control the Ceiling Fan Smart Switch with scenes and schedules?
Our Cync Ceiling Fan Smart Switches are able to be controlled through scenes and schedules. To learn more about scenes and schedules, click here.
Can I control the Fan Speed Switch with a Wire-Free Remote, Switch or Motion Sensor?
Yes, you have the ability to turn the Fan Switch on and off with a Cync Wire-Free device. Speed control is not available through a Wire-Free device. You can enable this functionality by assigning the Fan Speed Switch and a Cync Wire-Free device to the same Room or Group in the Cync app.
