Dynamic Effects

What are Dynamic Effects?

Dynamic Effects refers to Cync's new Light Shows and Music Sync features for Dynamic Effects products and select lighting products.

• Lights Shows are customizable effects for your Dynamic Effects products. This includes a combination of user-defined palettes, lighting effects, and other adjustable settings.
• Music Sync combines Light Shows with your music! It responds to the beat of your music with varying levels of brightness on your Dynamic Effects Cync products. See the Light Shows and Music Sync article for more information.
• Segment Control allows you to customize individual segments on your Dynamic Effects device. Choose from millions of colors and desired brightness.

What Cync products are compatible with Dynamic Effects?

• Light Shows are compatible with all Cync Full Color Light Bulbs and Light Strips, Cync Dynamic Effects A19 and BR30 Bulbs, and Dynamic Effects Light Strips with Cync app version 6.8 or later. The Cync Full Color Lights must be on the latest firmware.
• Music Sync is compatible with Dynamic Effects Light Indoor Light Strips, Dynamic Effects Outdoor Light Strips, Direct Connect Thin-Style Light Strip, and Dynamic Effects Direct Connect Light Bulbs with app version 6.8 or later. Your Cync Dynamic Effects products must be on the most updated firmware in the Cync app.

Light Shows

Can I create my own Light Show?

Yes! See the Lights Shows and Music Sync article on instructions how.

Can I play the same Light Show on a bulb and a Dynamic Effects product at the same time?

Yes, but the Light Shows will function differently depending on whether the product have multiple color segments or not. For example, you would be able to display the same Light Show on a Cync Full Color Light Bulb and on a Dynamic Effects Indoor Light Strip, but they display the Light Show slightly different.

Do I need to be connected via Bluetooth to create, edit, delete or play Light Shows?

No, unless your location is Bluetooth only.

Will Light Shows be compatible with C-Reach/Sol locations?

No.

Will Light Shows work with Scenes and Schedules?

No, this feature is coming soon.

Why are Light Shows not working?

Make sure your device firmware is up to date in the Cync app. To update firmware, navigate to Settings within the Cync App and select Firmware Updates.

Music Sync

How do I access Music Sync? / Why isn't the Music Sync feature working?

Music Sync is only available for Dynamic Effects products. Make sure that your Dynamic Effects lights are updated to the latest fireware in the the Cync app. To update firmware, navigate to Settings within the Cync App and select Firmware Updates.

Segment Control

What is segment control on the Cync Dynamic Effects products?

Segment Control offers complete customization by allowing you to set each separate segment on your Dynamic Effects device to its own color and/or brightness using the Cync app. Colors and designs can be saved for later use on any Dynamic Effects compatible device. The Cync Dynamic Effects A19 and BR30 bulbs allow you to set each of the 4 quadrants while the Dynamic Effects Light strips (including our new Neon-Shape Light) offer full control of the color/relative brightness each of each individual segment.

How do I control the segments of my Cync Dynamic Effects product?

Navigate to the Dynamic Effects Bulb or Light Strip that you want to control, in the Cync app. Tap the arrow icon to open the drawer for more options. Select the Dynamic Effects Segment Control icon. From here you can customize the color/relative brightness of all individual segments of your Dynamic Effects Light Bulb or Strip. Voice Assistants and Dynamic Effects

Will Dynamic Effects work via Alexa or Google?

Yes! After you name a Light Show, you can say "Alexa, set [light] to [light show name]", or "Hey Google, set [light] to [light show name]".
