How do I install my Undercabinet Fixtures?

What are the different installation methods for the Undercabinet Fixtures?
The Cync Undercabinet Fixtures can be installed with a direct wire method or simply plugged-in. For the Undercabinet Puck Fixtures, the direct wire method will need a J-Box accessory (not included).
How many Undercabinet Fixtures can be installed together?
A total of 3 Undercabinet Pucks can be linked together, 10 Undercabinet Bars, or a total of 10 Undercabinet Bars and Pucks up to 220W. If 10 total devices equal over 220W, the devices may not work properly. Please refer to the Undercabinet Puck Specification and Undercabinet Bar Specification for more information on Wattage.

Do I need to physically link my devices together in order for them to be controlled together with the buttons?
If you have multiple Undercabinet Fixtures and want the physical buttons to control all of the fixtures (wired together or not), group the devices in the app. Otherwise the physical buttons will only control individual devices. The physical buttons will also affect all Cync devices in the same group not just undercabinet devices.
Do I need Wi-Fi/internet to control Undercabinet Fixtures?
Yes, you will need Wi-Fi/internet because they connect to the Cync app via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Although you can still control your Undercabinet Fixtures without an internet connection, setting up a Wi-Fi connection is part of initial setup in the Cync app.
Do I need an electrician to install these in my home?
Installation requires knowledge of luminaire electrical systems. If you're unsure, contact an electrician.
Do Cync Undercabinet Fixtures work with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands?
Cync Undercabinet Fixtures only work with 2.4 GHz but is compatible with most routers that combine 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands into a single network.
Can I control these lights when I’m not home?
Yes, you can control your Cync Undercabinet Fixtures away from home, no hub or bridge needed required. Simply pair your Undercabinet Fixtures to the Cync app.
Are these lights compatible outside of the US and Canada?
Currently, Cync Undercabinet Fixtures are only available in the US and Canada.
Is there a limit to the number of fixtures I can connect to the Cync app?
We recommend no more than 50 Cync smart devices in one app Home.
Can I link the Cync Undercabinet Fixtures to voice assistants?
Yes, you can set up your Undercabinet Fixtures with Google Voice Assistant and Alexa.
Can I control Cync Undercabinet Fixtures with motion sensors?
Yes, Cync Undercabinet Fixtures are compatible with Cync Wire-Free Motion Sensors.
How do I reset my Undercabinet Fixture?

Do I need a hub to connect to a Google Assistant?
No additional hub is required to connect Cync Undercabinet Fixtures to a Google Assistant.
Can I connect my fixtures directly to Google Home without the Cync App?
Yes, your Cync Undercabinet Fixtures can be set up with Google Seamless Setup without the use of the Cync app. Alternatively, you may pair your Cync devices with the Cync app first, then link your Google account. See our Google article for information on using your Cync products with Google.
How far can my Google Assistant be from the Undercabinet Fixtures to work?
As long as your Google Assistant is connected to the home's Wi-Fi, your Undercabinet Fixtures will work.
Can I control my Undercabinet Fixtures from anywhere in the house with Google Assistant?
Yes, as long as there is an available Google Assistant paired with the Undercabinet Fixtures, you will have control.
How many Undercabinet Fixtures can be connected to my Google Assistant through the Cync app?
You can connect up to 50 smart devices per Google Voice Assistant.
Can I create groups in Google Home?
You cannot create special groups in Google Home. However, you can create rooms and devices within those rooms. New devices will automatically group into their respective device type categories. Note that you will not be able to split these out from other lighting devices within that room.
Can I add Undercabinet Fixtures to Google Home Routines?
Yes, Undercabinet Fixtures are compatible with Google Home Routines.
Alexa FAQs
Do I need a hub to connect to Alexa?
No additional hub is required to connect Cync Undercabinet Fixtures to Alexa.
Can I control the Undercabinet Fixtures using an Echo product?
Yes, the Echo Show (All Generations), Echo (2nd Generation and newer), Echo Dot (2nd Generation and newer) and Echo Studio are all compatible.
Can I add my Undercabinet Fixtures to Routines and Groups when connecting directly to Alexa?
No. You will have to connect your Undercabinet Fixtures to the Cync app before pairing with Alexa.
